Spring Cleaning
So our cage is normally cleaned on Fridays. Miss Renee takes us in the back and cleans our food bowls, water cups, bath and puts fresh paper on the bottom. But today Miss Renee made changes to our cage. We were given a new cuttle bone (we use it to keep our beaks healthy and to add a little calcium to our diet. Its good for our bones we're told). Our sand perch (the green one) was replaced with a brand new one that is yellow. We use that to help keep our claws tidy, sort of the way you clip your fingernails. Then Miss Renee did the most disturbing thing - she took away our bell and hoop and instead put in something very different. We're not sure what to think about it. We're told it's a ladder, something we can perch on. Its very odd looking and we're really not sure about it. When we asked about our bell, Miss Renee said it was time for something a little different and that we would get it back sometime later. Do you think we should use the ladder? Don't forget to stop by and tell us what you think about our new look.

Penguins are birds - even if they don't fly
Miss Renee asked us today what she thought should go up on the bulletin board for spring. There are a lot of symbols for spring - flowers, kites, birds... STOP! Birds right there we told her that we thought she should put a bird up - like a Robin. We're told they come back in the Spring. I wonder where they went - probably on vacation - why don't we get to go on one of those. I don't know stop interrupting. Anyway we said it should be a bird. We almost had her too until she looked at the bulletin board and said "You know I've already done a bird. A Penguin is a bird, even if it doesn't fly." Stop right there. It doesn't fly! We were in shock. First that she wasn't going to put up a bird and second that we didn't know penguins couldn't fly. How can they be a bird if they don't fly?! Oh and to make matters worse do you know what Miss Renee is thinking of putting on the bulletin board instead of a bird - a snail! I don't even know what that is. Its unbelievable. Kyp and I are going to have to find a book on penguins and on snails just to find out what kind of madness is happening here at the library.

Snow Storm
"The weather outside is frightful". At least it was this past weekend. Thankfully we were nice and snug here in the library. Now I know that many of you wonder what happens to us when the weather is predicted to be bad. Well not to worry we are well taken care of. Miss Renee makes sure that we have plenty of water and food to keep us going when the library is closed for weather. If the weather is really bad we have backup plans. Sometimes a librarian ( Miss Renee or one of the others) takes us home with her- when things are really bad. If things don't look good but aren't really bad some of the librarians who live nearby stop in and check on us. So we are quite content just like you. So you don't have to worry. These librarians think of everything.
