We've heard about some amazing things this summer. The library has been filled with people, kids are reading up a storm and there have been programs galore. Now while we aren't thrilled that most of the programs we can't come to it's okay because the kids and Miss Renee tell us all about them. But we've been hearing about more than just what is happening at the library but what is at home too. We've some pictures to share as well so keep watching.
At the Teen Beneath the Surface Ponding Class they caught
7 baby catfish - aren't they cute?
Auburn Department of Public Works visits with some big
trucks!
Jessica grew this huge sunflower by herself from a tiny seed.
Isn't it just awesome - We hope she shares seeds with us!
Hi everyone! Summer is going very well and it has been HOT! While we like being warm it has even been a bit too hot for us.
Yesterday, Miss Renee and Miss Judy took us to the vet for our checkup. Everyone is doing fine. The vet said that our lungs and hearts sound healthy and that we have plenty of muscle. We are very healthy - yeah! The vet did recommend that we get some vegetable greens added to our diet. We're not so sure about that. Miss Renee gave us something called broccoli today - but neither one of us wants to try it.
Do you think we should try it? Let us know - leave a comment - should we try vegetables?
I don't know if you've been in the library lately but it has really changed. For a week we have watched Miss Renee and Ms. Judy decorating the children's room. Our bright home has suddenly become an underground cavern. There are rock walls and stalactites hanging from the ceiling. The entrance way has been transformed so it appears when you enter the children's room that you're entering a cavern.
Our windows have suddenly been covered in transparent pictures. Do you know what book they come from? We do - but we're not going to tell you. See if you can figure it out for yourself. Its a great book to try for the summer!
Our friend owl stopped by and they played a part in the teens promotional summer video - which if you haven't seen you should as it is very funny. We've added a link below. Of course we were a bit upset that we weren't asked to do the video, but Miss Renee said that we had enough to do with keeping a eye on all the kids in the library. We're not sure if we believe her about that but as she controls the food what's a bird to do? Anyway there is a great display taken from the video that is in the library entrance way.
We've been told that the summer reader program is for kids, teens and adults. Did you notice the lack of participation for birds? We did - and of course we let it be known. Miss Renee said that we could join the kids program, and you better believe that this year we will join.
Don't miss this summer - from what we've seen while Miss Renee planned all this there is going to be a lot to do and its going to be a lot of fun! So don't forget to sign up on June 24 - I bet we sign up before you do!
