Second Battle: Bear against Zoomer

Zoomer's Summer Snowstorm by Ned Young is another of my favorites.  Zoomer wants to make a snow cone but something simple soon becomes a snow day in the middle of summer.  I love the illustrations in this book.  Zoomer makes such wonderful creations - animals, castles, an amusement park - it's all so great!  How can a book with this much imagination not be a winner!

Bear Snores On by Karma Wilson is my other favorite.  This book is so much fun - I love to make the bear snore.  I can't believe he sleeps through all the things his friends do. I was convinced that he was going to wake up with all the things they did and then it was something small that wakes up bear.  This is such a cozy book - it will make you want to snuggle down and read.

Older Kids Battle:
The Kingdom Keepers: Disney After Dark by Ridley Pearson is my favorite.  There is so much adventure in this book - its fantastic.  Miss Renee has told us about Disney as have many kids and it sounds like so much fun, but reading this book opened another world.  Lots of kids wonder what a place is like after dark - the library is pretty cool, but this book had pirates, witches and so many surprises. The keepers are a group of kids who go into the park after they fall asleep and they have to save Disney World from the evil story villains - who wouldn't want to be a hero.  There is just so much to this book you don't want to miss it.

The Candymakers by Wendy Mass is my favorite.  This is a story about 4 kids who are entering a candy contest.  They get to work at a candy factory during the contest to create their original candy - but there is more to this than just candy making.  Spies, revenge, secrets and friendship abound as each kid tells there story.  Who will win the contest and what will happen to the kids' friendship?  It's a sure fire winner.
